Payments, Charges and Rebates

Cancellation Policy
Boorowa Street Practice understands that you may not be able to keep your appointment as schedule due to various reasons. If the practice is made aware of your cancellation, the time can be used for somebody in need of medical attention.
A fee of $30.00 will be charged for non- attendances or cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to appointment time.
CONSULT CHARGES
All fees are Medicare rebatable and provided at the time of payment
Standard Consult (15mintues) non-pensioner- $80.00 – out of pocket $40.00
Standard Consult (15mintues) Pensioner - $65.00 – out of pocket $25.00
Under 16 & health care card holders - $70.00 – out of pocket $30.00
Long Consultation (30mintues) non-pensioner - $120.00– out of pocket $43.00
Long Consultation (30mintues) Pensioner - $105.00– out of pocket $28.00
Under 16 & health care card holders - $110.00– out of pocket $33.00
Preventative health and chronic care plans will be Bulk billed for eligible patients. These include:
Health Assessments for 40-49 years old
Annual Health assessment for > 75-year-old
Chronic Care Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Health assessments
Phone consults will be reduced due to Medicare requirements.
As telehealth appointments were provided by Medicare to assist those at risk of COVID, telehealth consults will no longer be available simply for scripts, referrals or medical certificates. To provide holistic care we encourage patients to attend a face to face appointment where possible. Please call Reception to clarify.
Billing Policy
Non- Medicare Rebatable services:
Any services that are not health related cannot be billed to Medicare as they are a private affair/ insurance related. Some of those services are as listed below. You will not have a rebate from Medicare for availing these services.
Workers Compensation claims:
Patients are expected to pay for the consultations until the claim has been accepted after which, the practice can bill the insurance company. Patients can claim the paid amount back from insurance company. Workers Compensation will not be accepted without a letter of approval and a claim number.
(Pre-) Employment medical:
Boorowa Street Practice provides pre-employment medicals. An appropriate length appointment should be made after discussing the extent of the details of examination required by the employer. These appointments cannot be booked online
Commercial Driver’s license medicals - Non Rebatable
Travel Vaccinations (Vaccinations costs are extra to the consult) please advise reception on booking
Medical records transfer that need to be printed or posted will be $33 to cover costs.
